June….June….of 09! That was the last time we posted anything here on our casting blog, sheesh! We hang our heads in shame. It’s not that we haven’t been busy, oh we have indeed been busy. We just haven’t taken the time to update and that will be remedied here in the nearest future, well, right now actually. I should say, that we’ll make a better effort to keep all of you interested friends and fans in the loop.
What has been happening that has kept us so busy? We’ll if you don’t follow the main blog, July 10th saw TORK’s exhibition at the Franklin Park Conservatory called Savage Gardens opened. That took most of our time, and our minds. It was an exhibition that we put our all into and it was well worth it. Peep these links for images > Savage &Gardens
We have also been casting (per order) reproductions of classic Pontiac Chieftain and Star Chief hood ornaments for Wheat Pontiac Vintage Parts out of Pittsburgh, PA. For most, we had copies, but in the case of the 1955 we had the original to work from and make molds. It was pretty cool to be holding a piece of automobile history, and a piece of early resin casting. I think that they all lit up, at least than was the case with the 1954. Peep the images of our castings below.
Another project here in the casting division, will be Ohio State University Band figures for a local company. We will be molding, casting, assembling, and painting these. Lots-o-work, but that’s what we do, and we’re down. Images of the first figure will soon follow.
Well that’s it for now, thanks for stopping by, the TORK Casting Crew!
